See the scale.
Play the scale.
Slide to any key and the whole fretboard lights up: the major scale, its relative minor, the pentatonic and blues notes, and the formula that builds them. No app. No sixty shapes to memorise.

One slide. Every key. The whole neck.
Most of us learn scales as boxes: five shapes, one key, and no real idea why they work. So the moment someone calls a different key, you're guessing again. The Scale Compass puts the reason on the board. Pick a tonic, slide, and read the pattern, the intervals and the relative minor in one glance.
- Solo without getting stuck — see every note that works in the key you're playing, right across the neck, instead of the same five shapes.
- Change key without starting again — slide the tonic and the whole fretboard re-maps. Same shapes, new key.
- Pentatonic and blues on the same board — skip the 4 and 7 for pentatonic, add the blue note for blues. Both marked.
- Know why those notes work — the whole and half steps are printed under the tonic, so you can rebuild any scale from memory.
- Find the relative minor instantly — it sits right under the major tonic. No working it out.

Features
- Sliding key selector — move the tonic and the matching scale, intervals and relative minor line up instantly.
- Interval-labelled fretboard — every note is numbered 1–7, so a shape in C is the same shape in F♯.
- Pentatonic and blues overlays — the five-note and six-note versions are marked on the same board.
- Pencil stand — a pencil through the corner props it up on your music stand.
- Pocketable — small enough for a gig bag, big enough to read from a stand.
- 88-page illustrated book — the reasoning behind the board: scale construction, intervals, fretboard logic, with exercises.
Description
This Guitar Scale Compass is a hands-on way to see how scales are built and how their patterns move across the fretboard. Slide the mechanical tool to a key and reveal the matching scale information, interval formulas and relative minor relationship, without depending only on memorised finger patterns.
An illustrated 88-page theory book adds the reasoning behind the visual layout. The bundle supports beginner through advanced guitarists who want to develop technique, explore soloing and songwriting, or teach scale construction more clearly.
See the scale, understand the formula and put it under your fingers.

See it in action
See the Scale Compass in use
Scales shouldn't feel like homework.
Most of us learn scales as shapes: a box here, a box there, in one key, from one chart or one app. Change key and it falls apart. The theory that would tie it all together lives in a book nobody opens.
Boxes without the why
Finger patterns stick for a week. Without the intervals behind them there's nothing to rebuild from when you forget.
One key at a time
Posters and chord sheets show one key per chart. Your band plays in E♭ and you're back to square one.
Screens that eat practice time
Open the app, dismiss the notification, scroll, tap. Ten minutes later you still haven't played a note.
Theory that reads like a textbook
Dense pages, no diagrams, no guitar. You want the idea, then the fretboard, then your fingers. In that order.
Slide. See. Play.
The Scale Compass puts twelve keys on one board and the formula right next to them. The book explains the why in plain English, with the fretboard on every page. Together they turn "which notes?" into "I know why those notes".
Before
- The same five pentatonic shapes, every solo
- A different chart for every key
- Guessing which notes fit, and hoping
- The theory in a book you never open
With the Scale Compass
- The whole neck, in whatever key you're in
- Twelve keys, one slide apart
- Knowing why those notes work
- The reasoning right next to the shape

Lives on your music stand

Slide to any key
Move the tonic to D and the board shows D major, B minor, the D pentatonic and the blue note. Move it again and it all moves with you. Same shapes, new key, no re-learning.

The book behind the board
Eighty-eight illustrated pages that start with one major scale on one string and build to movable shapes, pentatonics and blues. Fretboard diagrams on every page, with exercises you can play straight away.

Screen-free practice
It sits on your stand, next to the book, and waits. No charging, no notifications, no scrolling. Glance, play, glance again.

Stands up on a pencil
Push a pencil through the corner and the board stands at reading angle. When you're done, it slides into a gig bag or a back pocket.
What players say
"This is it! This is what I've been looking for. A simple and easy to use way to learn and practice scales. High quality and just the right size to be easily read. I totally got my money's worth just in the instruction manual that accompanied it. Worth every penny!"
"I have both the scales and CAGED products. The books are well written and easy to follow with great diagrams. I really like the sliders, much better than a computer screen or app."
"It's exactly what I need to transition from random noodling to structured noodling. Very intuitive and easy to use. The blues note is a great feature to mix up the riffs a bit!"
"It's awesome, perfect little tool for memorizing and visualizing the scales on the neck."
"Loved it! Easy to read and learn. Definitely a must have to expand the understanding of the fretboard."
"Has definitely taken me to a new level of understanding. Brilliant."

Everything you might be wondering
Which scales does it cover?
The major scale in all 12 keys, each one's relative (natural) minor, the pentatonic scale (skip the 4 and 7) and the blues scale (add the blue note). The whole-step / half-step formula is shown for every key, so you can build the rest yourself.
I'm a beginner. Is it too much?
No. The book starts with one major scale on one string and builds up slowly, with a fretboard diagram on every page. The board shows one key at a time, so you only ever look at what you're playing.
Acoustic or electric?
Both. This is the guitar edition, laid out for a six-string in standard tuning. Scales don't care what your guitar is plugged into.
What's in the box?
The Guitar Scale Compass sliding decoder and the 88-page illustrated theory book. Add a pencil of your own to stand it up.
How stiff should the slider be?
It should move smoothly without force. If yours doesn't, don't push it, message us and we'll sort it under the 1-year warranty.
When will my order ship?
Within 24 hours of ordering. UK orders usually arrive within 3 days. US orders ship free over $50; international deliveries take longer, see our shipping FAQ for times by country.
What if I don't get on with it?
You have 30 days to try it, risk-free. If it's not for you, return it for a refund.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, one year on the tool and the book. Normal, enthusiastic use is covered.
Is there a quick-start guide?
Yes. A free quick-start guide is available to download from the product page at noisyclan.com, and the Community portal at play.noisyclan.com has lessons that use the Compass.
