from 58 reviewsThe Decoder is a great learning tool, first and foremost. I would like to say that it SHOULDN'T BE THE ONLY learning tool, as visual memorisation is just a fragment of knowledge, and the magic happens when you understand how things work. So, if you are still learning, or you maybe forgot, or would like to share with your bandmates on the gig, to help them, I would highly recommend this.
I must admit i didnt really read the product description, as i only wanted a physical wheel of fiths device, so was pleastly surprised by the really well written booklet. Super impressed with the quality and info, well worth the money.
One of the legs on my first Wee stand cracked. I complained and received a new one for free after sending a picture of the stand. The response was quick and the matter solved without hazzel. The new one is working fine. A pleasant experience.
Got this for my brother and his family- all of which play at least two musical instruments. He was happy to receive this and he was impressed with the quality of it. He is very impressed with it and would highly recommend it. Hope this review was helpful, thanks for reading it.
I am so happy to have received my Decoder Circle of Fifths. The item was exactly as described and came with a little book. I received it very quickly even though they are in Great Britain. I am following Noisy Clan and am excited to see what they might do next - after the best music stand ever comes out.
The stand is lightweight and nice. The customer service is outstanding
Music stand arrived promptly. Design is good and does the job.
I'm not really into music theory, I just like picking up my guitar and playing, I also try this with piano (or Garage band) but, unlike guitar I have no idea what I'm doing, I just hit notes until they sound good. This however has changed that. I'm not sure if it's an original idea, I may have seen something similar floating around when I was younger but I don't recall ever getting hands on with one, and I so wish I had found this earlier. It's incredibly easy to use and very well designed. It is a little flimsy so you'd need to take care of it, but unless it was made of metal I don't see a way around that. What's more, it comes with a great little manual explaining all sorts of things. This is a fantastic product for almost anyone interested in music that isn't already a professional. At around £20 it's probably the cheapest way to get good results in a very easy fashion. You could look online of course but this just makes everything straightforward. Very happy with it.
I am obsessed with music theory. I am not good at it, but I love studying it and working with it, so I can better understand how music works.
I am always on the lookout for books and other resources that will help me better understand music theory. This is a wonderful product. Although it might be geared toward younger people, I am thoroughly enjoying it.
I have printed off a handout of the Circle of Fifths many times, but this is much better for me. And, yes, I do eventually want to write my own compositions, and this will be a great tool/resource.
To the manufacturer: How about a tool to help me better understand Counterpoint?
I am so excited that this is a book and not just a pamphlet. I haven't had a chance to pull out the circle of fifths tool yet but I can wait to make my music compositions even better.
This is a brilliant product for any musician post grade 5 to learn about chords and how they are correlate to each other.
As a long time musician I still regularly need to look up which notes and chords sit where in the circle of fiths or forths. Particularly when working in keys I'm not particularly familiar with. This little wheel device is just the ticket as a quick reference to check what notes are where in any key. For beginners and those learning music theory it'll be an even bigger help. Compact and sturdy (it has a fixed transparent plastic cover) it sits in my workstation area ready for instant use. Comes with a very comprehensive booklet explaining how to use the wheel too.
This musical item is ideal for theorists who enjoy playing, arranging or composing (or even those who do all three!) Made by a British firm, the main product is beautifully put together, being both smart and durable. Circle of fifths decoder templates can be downloaded from the internet, but this device puts them completely in the shade. The book that accompanies it is also pretty useful.
I can’t do anything than to add my appreciation and applause for this little set. Written in a plain English way to help musicians of any level to understand why some progressions work best. It’s an invaluable little tool and highly recommended
This nice quality book and useful tool is very helpful to me as a budding guitarist, I have tried learning the circle of fifths using other methods and I have always found it daunting and difficult. This tool with accompanying book has made it a little easier for me to learn, as with anything the more you use the tool the more you will learn and the fact it has a built in stand means I can have it sat there all the time for me to refer to. The book itself is explains things in a clear and bitesize manner making learning less intimidating. A good learning and reference guide I will be making use of a lot.
