from 220 reviewsI bought the Circle of Fifths Decoder for guitar and I was impressed by the quality for the price and the design itself -- very useful and easy to understand. I also did not expect the accompanying book to be so well-written and clear. I would definitely recommend.
I like them. I like them a lot.
Love the noisy clan products, well worth the $. Very quick shipping to Australia as well. What's not to like, learning is everything.
As soon as I started unpacking the items it was very easy to tell that high quality components were used and the attention to detail was evident by the workmanship. Not only does it do what it’s designed to do - it is also a clean and sophisticated system. Excellent and attractive addition to my music room. Highly recommended and appreciated.
Ok it was a rough start, wrong color sent, missing pieces from out of the book…but the Decoder itself is just a brilliant design.
Would I change anything? A bit smaller wouldn’t hurt and the stand while an inspired concept is not something I would use.
What is perfect? The simplicity of use and the ruggedness of this wheel is much better of a product than the frailty of the paper designs and fiddly wooden ones.
I love this stand! It is the perfect complement to my main Grandstand and allows me to view instructions on my iPad while reading music and playing.
Sweet. A great accessory for viewing my tablet while using the DAW.
I needed a compact and light music stand as I am currently travelling to rehearsals by motorbike. Used this stand for the first time this morning, and it worked out ok. But it’s not perfect, and for the build / materials the price point needs to drop significantly imo. The positives are:
- Very clever design.
- Incredibly lightweight.
- Very compact WHEN CLOSED.
- It was adequate support for a double (fold out) A4 music arrangement.
Not so good imo:
- My fusion gig bag that I use to transport a sax to rehearsal, is too heavy (without the sax in) to be used for the ‘extra stabilisation by hanging a rucksack’ feature. Caused the legs to just splay out.
- Because there is no metal in the construction, my magnetic pencil holder had nowhere to attach to (we all use one of those in rehearsal, right?).
- I am 5’ 8””; seated required five of the six segments to be tensionsed. Pull out the remaining section and I have to angle the music support upwards for it to be usable at standing height
- the footprint when in use is large. Practically, to have the music at a readable distance, you do not sit astride the front leg. In a busy / small rehearsal space the two rear legs would probably be underneath another player’s chair.
I have been meaning to switch over to an iPad for all of my music, and when I do this stand will come into its own. At the moment, it is useful as I say for specific reasons when travelling light, it’s not really designed for every day. It’s over priced at the moment for the materials; perhaps less money could have been spent on the funky noisy clan stickers (which probably impact the environmental credentials of this product, the glue on the stickers is an almost instant bond, be warned). Agree with the comment about fingers. Supervise children, as if you don’t close it in a logical sequence fingers can get caught when pushing the legs back into the storage position.
I love love this stand. Super light but solid. Also Noisy Clan customer service was top notch. I had a minor issue with my original stand but they sorted me out a replacement really fast.
Cheat sheets are the clearest I have seen both graphically and the logic of the layout. Best in the business.
Well produced in laminated card. Also love their Guitar Circle of Fifths Plastic Wheel
I recently bought the circle of fifths chord wheel from the same company and wish I had bought the bundle including this product. Great addition to the circle of fifths chord wheel. Eagerly awaiting new products. Very happy.
I like that these are coated so they will last longer. This is a great group of people and put a lot of thought into their products.
These are like little reminder and nice placards to have around to help when learning guitar chord or developing songs. These along with the Decoder are great to help visual and reference. Work smarter not harder.
Brilliant and simple bit of kit to carry in your guitar case. Helped me out plenty of times.
Designed by musicians for musicians.
